Mint Snowball

After reading all of the essays " Mint Snowball " is most definitely my favorite. This essay is about the various things that the author remembers about his great grandfather. Reading this especially hit home for me because I spend a lot of time with my great grandma. She is currently 93 and acts like she is on top of the world. Although she is terrible at bluffing I still play along.

This essay is about Mint Snowballs, which are something that her great grandfather makes. Its treated like a secret family recipe. However on page 95 it talks about when selling the recipe the mothers feeling were hurt as the recipe meant a lot to her. The family tries to recreate the recipe over and over however it is never as perfect. After reading this essay it really makes me appreciate the various special things that my grandma prepares for me whenever I go over to her house. For example whenever I go and visit she always makes me waffles (from scratch)with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar. They are so delicious. Ego is no competition. I will lego your ego, for some of grandmas waffles.

On page 94 the author writes  "First, he stirred fresh mint leaves with sugar and secret ingredients in a small pot...." Using all the description of the recipe and what the hopeful outcome will be it makes the reader , me especially, want some Mint Snowballs. I love mint as a flavor and I would love to try some of the authors great grandpas Minty Snowballs.
